93al-ḌuḥāThe Shiny Morning Hoursسُورَةُ الضحى

By the illuminating morning hour,

And by the night as it extends its dusk.

[O Muhammad]! Your Sustainer has not turned away from you nor has he scorned you:

For, certainly, the afterlife is better for you than the introductory life [worldly life];

And, in time, your Sustainer shall give you — and for that you shall be well-pleased.

Has He not found you an orphan and sheltered you?

And found you adrift, and guided you?

And found you in want, and given you sufficiency?

Therefore, over the orphan you shall not pull rank;

And him that asks [for help] you shall never rebuke;

And of your Sustainer’s provisions shall you [forever] speak.
