75al-QiyāmahResurrectionسُورَةُ القيامة

No need to aver the Day of Resurrection!

And no need to aver by a person’s compunctions!

Does a social being reckon that We shall not integrate his bones together [again]?

Of course, We are able to replicate his very fingerprints!

Even so, social beings want to [offensively] barge ahead [without any consideration to what We are telling them],

Asking [derisively], “When is Resurrection Day?”

[The following are its prolog]: once the eyesight is dazzled,

And the Moon is darkened,

And the Sun and the Moon are drawn to- gether —

On that Day social beings will exclaim, “Where is the way out [of this overwhelming arrangement]?”

[And they will hear] a rebuffing No! There is no place of safety [for anyone]!

On that Day your final destination shall be with your Sustainer!

A social being on that Day will be informed of whatever [good] deeds he put in and whatever deeds he put off.

More exactly, a social being is [by his God-given nature] incisive about himself,

Even though he may put forth his excuses.

Do not [try to] move ahead [of the Qur’an] by the [mere] verbalization of it [assuming that words are substitutes for the efforts its meanings require] in order to expedite it [the Qur’an’s purposes]:

For, indeed, it is We who will integrate it [the Qur’an in theory and practice], and [We who will] attune human maturity to its rendition.

Thus, when We divulge its [the Qur’an’s] meanings, at that time you are instructed to [in practice] follow through on its acquired meanings [simultaneously]:

And from there on, it is upon Us to manifest its [down-to-earth] expression.

But then again, you all are passionate about this momentary life,

And you all leave out [all considerations of] the ultimate life [in the world to come]!

There will be faces on that Day radiating with joy,

Focusing on their Sustainer;

And there will be faces on that Day emitting sadness and sorrow,

Expecting a crushing blow [from who knows where] to wipe them out.

An emphatic No [to those who reject Us and reject resurrection]! [What say you] when [the departing spirit of a perishing person] reaches the throat,

And [someone] asks, “Is there anyone around [to prevent what is coming]?” —

The while he [who is dying] knows this is the time of departure [from worldly life],

And his knees become fixed in place [unable to move]:

Unto your Sustainer [now] is all movement forward!

[Hitherto] he did not accept the [divinely revealed] truth and he did not pray [for salvation];

Rather, he refuted [Our truth] and turned away [from the responsibilities of that truth],

And then he went [and joined] his type of [truth-denying] folks.

[And yet, you should know] the time of priority [when you will be held accountable] is approaching —

And approaching it is to you!

Does a social being think that he will be left alone without a purpose?

Was he not once a [mere] sperm ejaculated from semen,

And thereafter became an embryo — whereupon He created [life in it] and proportioned [it to become a full-fledged living being],

And developed out of it both sexes, male and female?

Is not He, who does all that, capable of bringing the dead back to life?
