Madinan · 78 ayat · 97th in order of revelation
The Mercy-Giver
Taught [you, O Muhammad, and others] the Qur’an,
Created man — the social being —
[And] taught him how to [fluently] express himself.
The Sun and the Moon are [organized] within [His] computation;
And both the stars and the trees express their reverence [before Him].
And the skies has He set up and lifted, and has worked out a [universal] equilibrium,
So that [you, O people] should never push the limits of this [God-calculated natural and universal] equilibrium:
[Therefore, whenever you do venture into nature and the universe] do honor that equilibrium with social justice and do not devalue/ degrade that [divinely-designed universal and natural] equilibrium
And the earth has He situated [within this universal and natural setting] for [the utility of] living beings,
With fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates],
And grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling [aromatic] herbs.
Which, then, of your Sustainer’s blessings do you [dermal (man) and firey (jinn) beings] dispute?
He has created social [human] beings out of crackling clay, like pottery,
Whereas the jinn [invisible beings] He has created out of an admixture of fire [and other elements].
Which, then, of your Sustainer’s blessings do you [man and jinn] dispute?
[He is] the Sustainer of the two sunrises [each one peculiar to social beings — man — or to invisible beings — jinn], and the Sustainer of the two sunsets.
Which, then, of your Sustainer’s blessings do you [man and jinn] dispute?
He adjoins the two seas [oceans], so that they [might] meet:
[Yet] between them is a barrier that they cannot go beyond.
Which, then, of your Sustainer’s blessings do you [man and jinn] dispute?
Out of those two [immense bodies of water] emerge large and small aquamarine gemstones.
Which, then, of your Sustainer’s blessings do you [man and jinn] dispute?
And belonging to Him are the seafaring vessels that sail as if protruding like knolls [over the water].
Which, then, of your Sustainer’s blessings do you [man and jinn] dispute?
All who inhabit it [earth] shall perish [cease to exist];
And what shall remain [forever] is your Sustainer’s self-and-aura, full of majesty and magnificence.
Which, then, of your Sustainer’s blessings do you [man and jinn] dispute?
All who are in the heavens and on earth seek [their needs] from Him, [not considering that] every day He manifests Himself in yet another [astounding] way.
Which, then, of your Sustainer’s blessings do you [man and jinn] dispute?
[In the future sometime] We will deal with you, O you [sin-laden] sets of two [the powerful and the powerless of man and jinn]!
Which, then, of your Sustainer’s blessings do you [man and jinn] dispute?
O communities of invisible beings and social [human] beings! If you think you are capable of penetrating through the borderlines of the heavens and the earth, go ahead and [try to] do so! [But] you cannot pass through [those borderlines] except by an authorization [from Allah]!
Which, then, of your Sustainer’s blessings do you [man and jinn] dispute?
Streaks of fire will be let loose upon you, and emissions [and radiations], and [thus] you will not be capable [of your task]!
Which, then, of your Sustainer’s blessings do you [man and jinn] dispute?
And [so, how do you expect to fare] when the sky is fractured and becomes red like [a particular type of] leather —
Which, then, of your Sustainer’s blessings do you [man and jinn] dispute?
For on that Day no individual from either social [human] beings or invisible beings shall be brought to account for anyone else [after their movement from the earth’s grave to the Court’s gavel].
Which, then, of your Sustainer’s blessings do you [man and jinn] dispute?
All villains shall be exposed by their body language, and [then] shall be seized by their foreheads and their feet!
Which, then, of your Sustainer’s blessings do you [man and jinn] dispute?
This [now] is the Hell that the villains used to dispute [in their previous life on earth]:
They will be scurrying between it [the hellfire] and [Hell’s] fiery hot water!
Which, then, of your Sustainer’s blessings do you [man and jinn] dispute?
And for those who stand in fear of their Sustainer’s status of power and authority, two gardens are due to them —
Which, then, of your Sustainer’s blessings do you [man and jinn] dispute? —
[Two gardens] of many amazing floras and shrubs.

In these two [gardens] are two flowing springs [of water].

Which, then, of your Sustainer’s blessings do you [social and invisible beings] dispute?
[In such a Paradise the blessed will dwell], reclining upon layers lined with exquisite fabric; and the blossom of both these gardens will be within easy reach.
Which, then, of your Sustainer’s blessings do you [man and jinn] dispute?
In these [amorous auras] will be mates that captivate by their brief glance, whom neither social being nor invisible being has ever fondled [thus are virgins].
Which, then, of your Sustainer’s blessings do you [man and jinn] dispute?
They appear to be [as precious] as rubies and marine gems —
Which, then, of your Sustainer’s blessings do you [man and jinn] dispute?
Can [any temporal quest for] perfection be replaced with anything other than [Allah’s reward of unadulterated] perfection?
Which, then, of your Sustainer’s blessings do you [man and jinn] dispute?
And besides those two will be two [other] gardens —

Which, then, of your Sustainer’s blessings do you [man and jinn] dispute? —
Two [gardens], lush and luxuriant green.

Which, then, of your Sustainer’s blessings do you [man and jinn] dispute?

[Therein will be situated] the [sex appeal of the] most instantaneous mystifying attraction within intimate marquees —
