تَبَّتۡ يَدَآ أَبِي لَهَبٖ وَتَبَّ
Doomed are the hands of the patriarch of the glowing fire, and doomed is he!
111al-MasadTwisted Strandsسُورَةُ المسد
Makkan · 5 ayat · 6th in order of revelation
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
مَآ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡهُ مَالُهُۥ وَمَا كَسَبَ
His wealth and his gains shall not avail him.
سَيَصۡلَىٰ نَارٗا ذَاتَ لَهَبٖ
He will [in due time] endure a fire of fierce flames,
وَٱمۡرَأَتُهُۥ حَمَّالَةَ ٱلۡحَطَبِ
And his wife [with him] — that carrier of inflammatory material:
فِي جِيدِهَا حَبۡلٞ مِّن مَّسَدِۭ
Around her neck [will be] a rope of twisted strands!
