100al-‘ĀdiyātThe Chargersسُورَةُ العاديات

By the chargers1 and their auditory sensation,

Followed by sparks of fire striking,

Followed by early morning attacks,

Thereby raising clouds of dust,

Thereby breaking into the center of any military assembly [of forces] —

Verily, toward his Sustainer the social being is insubordinate,

And to this, behold, he [himself] bears witness indeed:

For, verily, he is infatuated with extreme love of material possessions.

But does he lack the knowledge of [a Day when] graves are agitated [and their occupants emerge],

And [when] the contents of the bosoms are compiled —

On that Day, indisputably their Sustainer is fully aware of them [and what they did].
